Aiden Kuei's No-Hitter is First in Over 20 Years
In his fifth start of the season, Aiden Kuei pulled off a feat that hasn't been accomplished in over 20 years, which is throw a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts. Kuei and the Knights shut down California Miramar University, 10-0, to earn their third win in a row and improve to 7-5.
In his fifth start of the season, Aiden Kuei pulled off a feat that hasn't been accomplished in over 20 years, which is throw a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts. Kuei and the Knights shut down California Miramar University, 10-0, to earn their third win in a row and improve to 7-5.
Kuei's 11 strikeouts were a season-high and he went the distance for the first time this year. He is currently tied for 14th in the state with a total of 29 strikeouts.
Although Kuei didn't need much from the offense, the Knights put together their best performance of the season with season-highs in hits (16), RBI (8), doubles (4), and team batting average (.457).
Landyn Magina produced four RBI off a double and a home run. Andres Johnson, who leads the team with a .424 batting average, had four hits with two RBI.
Chris Marquez, Oliver Faith, and Marcello Fajardo each had two hits.
The Knights will begin the PCAC season with two games against Imperial Valley. After Thursday's conference opener at IVC, the teams will play at Morley Field on Saturday at 1 p.m.
