KNIGHTS WIN 8TH STRAIGHT WITH 108-80 ROUT OF IMPERIAL VALLEY
The Knights extended their win streak to eight games with a 108-80 rout of Imperial Valley on Wednesday at Harry West Gym. Sophomore forward Chris Burton had his second largest output of the season, scoring a game-high 29 points to go with seven rebounds and two blocks.

Burton's season-high was a 39-point effort in a 119-71 home win against Barstow on November 14. He has scored in double figures in 22 of the Knights' 28 games.
Sophomore forward Caleb Singleton went 6-of-9 from three-point territory and made 8-of-12 shots overall for 22 points. Singleton's sixth three-pointer was his 88th of the season and 200th of his two-year career at San Diego City.
It's the third time this season that Singleton has hit at least six three-pointers in a game. He is currently second in the state in made three-pointers.
Wednesday night's game was tied at 17-17 midway through the first half, but a quick 14-2 run by the Knights got them a lead that they would never relinquish.
Ahead 48-35 at halftime, the Knights started the second half on a 15-1 run to take a commanding 63-36 lead. They would eventually go up by as many as 33 points and went on to get their 11th win in the last 12 games.
Sophomore guard Christian Jones scored five points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out a game-high 11 assists. It's the third time this season that Jones has reached the 11 assist mark. Jones is currently eighth in state in assists per game with an average of 5.5.
Sophomore forward Stacey Lambert had 13 points and seven rebounds. Freshman guard Jumah Sutton added 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists off the bench.
Wednesday's blowout over Imperial Valley was the Knights' sixth consecutive double-digit victory. They have won by an average of 20.5 points during that stretch.
The Knights improved to 20-8 overall and 6-1 in the PCAC South. It's the fourth time during Mitch Charlens' 11-year tenure as head coach that the Knights have reached the 20-win mark. They also accomplished that feat in 2008-09 (28-5), 2011-12 (20-8), and 2013-14 (21-9).
City has one more regular season game left at Southwestern on Friday at 5:00 p.m. If the Knights win, they will claim the PCAC South championship for the second consecutive season.
