Knights Advance to Sweet Sixteen Behind Stifling Defense!

The No. 8 Knights have advanced to the sweet sixteen for the third consecutive season after getting past No. 24 Copper Mountain, 66-56, in a second round playoff with Lorenzo Wright leading the way offensively with 18 points off the bench. The No. 8 seed Knights will travel to play at No. 1 Fullerton on Saturday, March 4 at 7 p.m. in a Southern California regional final with the winner heading to the state championship quarterfinals.

Freshman Al Green Shines With 33 Points in Win Over Palomar

Playing in front of the largest home crowd of the season on sophomore night, it was freshman Al Green who carried the Knights offensively with a career-high 33 points on 10-of-13 shooting in a 91-86 home win over Palomar. It was the Knights' seventh win in the last eight games as improved to 22-5 overall and 13-2 in the PCAC.

The Knights took care of business at home on Friday as they routed Imperial Valley, 119-52, to extend their win streak to six. Seven players scored in double figures, including Kailen Rains who tallied 19 points to go with five assists and three steals, to help the Knights win their 19th straight over IVC.

The Knights got back on track with a 69-64 home win over MiraCosta on Friday night after suffering their first PCAC loss in nearly three years, a streak of 27 games, at Palomar on Wednesday. Knights Erase 11-Point Deficit to Beat Southwestern, 84-77

The 7th-ranked Knights fell behind by as many as 11 points in the second half, but they rallied back to win their fifth straight, 84-77, over Southwestern to improve to 13-3 overall and 4-0 in the PCAC. The defending PCAC champion Knights opened conference season at Grossmont on Wednesday and earned a 101-82 victory over the Griffins to extend their PCAC win streak to 24 games. Anjay Cortez led the way with a season-high 20 points, eight rebounds, and three assists as the 5th-ranked Knights improved to 9-3 overall and 1-0 in the PCAC.

Knights Win Grossmont Tourney Title; Howell, Bradley Jr. Make All-Tourney

For the second year in a row and for the fifth time in the last six seasons, the 9th-ranked Knights have claimed the Grossmont College tournament championship after getting past No. 10 Yuba, 73-70, in the title game on Sunday night. Sophomore Anthony Howell was named Most Outstanding Player and Kevin Bradley Jr. was selected to the all-tournament team.

Knights Win 2-of-3 at Allan Hancock Tourney

The Knights were back in action this past weekend after nearly two weeks without a game and they were able to win two-of-three games at the Allan Hancock Home Motors Tournament. They started the weekend with a 96-63 win over Santa Barbara, then got past San Jose, 85-75, before losing to Allan Hancock, 60-50, on Sunday afternoon.

Knights Open Season With Back-to-Back Wins

San Diego City, ranked No. 6 in Southern California, opened the 2022-23 campaign this weekend at Santa Monica's O'Fallon and Singui Classic and came away with a 95-56 blowout win over Compton and an 81-70 victory over Santa Monica to start the season at 2-0. The Knights had five players score in double figures in the win over Compton and had four players with at least 11 points in the road win over Santa Monica, including Lorenzo Wright who scored 31 total points in the two games.
