PCAC Champs Get 5-Seed; Host 2nd Rd on Sat
Two days after completing an undefeated (16-0) conference season to win their third straight PCAC championship, the Knights received the 5-seed and a first-round bye in the 3C2A Southern California regional tournament. They will host a second round game at Harry West Gym on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. against the winner of the first round matchup between No. 22 Chaffey and No. 12 Saddleback.

This is the 12th straight season that the Knights have qualified for the postseason tournament and the 15th time since head coach Mitch Charlens took the helm in 2004-05.
San Diego City finished the regular season with a 23-5 record, which marks the sixth straight season of 20 or more wins and the 12th under Charlens. On Saturday, he was named PCAC Coach of the Year for the third consecutive year and 10th time in his career.
The Knights will enter the 3C2A tournament on a 14-game win streak, their longest since 2021-22 when they won 17 in a row.
They have not faced Chaffey (16-12) this season, but did fall to Saddleback (14-14), 71-68, in overtime on Dec. 13 at Fullerton College. The Knights erased an 11-point second half deficit to force OT, but Saddleback's Christopher Williams hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to win the game.
Chaffey and Saddleback will play their first round game on Wednesday, Feb 25 at 7 p.m.
Admission for the Saturday's playoff at Harry West Gym is $12 for the general public and $8 for students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children less than 12 years of age.
