San Diego City claimed its second consecutive Inland Empire Athletic Conference championship on Thursday after sweeping Mt. San Jacinto 9-0 to finish undefeated at 6-0. The Knights, who also went unbeaten in 2025, have not lost a conference match since 2024, a win streak of 16.
It is the third conference title since 2017 under head coach Brandon Lupian and the 13th overall for San Diego City.
"I'm happy to share this conference championship with the guys and it's even more special to win a second one with the returners I had coming back," said Lupian. "Hopefully with the freshmen I have this year, they'll have the same drive to go for three."
The Knights, currently ranked No. 6 in the state, had a better outing against Mt. San Jacinto on Thursday than the previous meeting on March 3 when the Knights won 7-2.
City had lost the No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles matches in the first meeting, but won both of those on Thursday along with every other match.
Sebastian Pineda and Jacques Allende edged out MSJC's Nolan Carr and Landon Bristow, 8-6, in No. 3 doubles.
Allende then defeated Antonio Martinez, 6-0, 6-3, in No. 6 singles.
Brothers Hunter and Thomas Lynch earned an 8-4 win over Jesus Guadarrama and Keith Norman in No. 1 singles. They then won their respective No. 1 and No. 3 singles matches in straight sets.
The Knights will wrap up the regular season with a home match against Mt. San Antonio on Tuesday, March 24 at 2 p.m.
