THREE SOPHOMORES EARN ALL-PCAC HONORS
Three sophomores were named to the All-Pacific Coast Conference teams, including Elliot Nixon who made the first team, as well as Kiley Pope and Mariah Wonders, who earned second team honors.
Three sophomores were named to the All-Pacific Coast Conference teams, including Elliot Nixon who made the first team, as well as Kiley Pope and Mariah Wonders, who earned second team honors.
Nixon finished second on the team in scoring at 12.7 points per game and was also second in rebounding as she brought down an average of 6.7 boards per game. She was the most prolific 3-point shooter on the team as she made a team-best 47.
Nixon made six from 3-point land on her way to 23 points and nine rebounds in the final game of the season against Imperial Valley. She dropped a season-high 27 points in a win over L.A. Harbor on January 11. Her best rebounding game came against Southwestern on February 15 when she grabbed 13.
Kiley Pope averaged 7.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.6 steals for the Knights in her sophomore year. She scored a season-high 24 points and had nine rebounds in the second meeting against Southwestern on February 15. Pope brought down a season-best 10 rebounds on two occasions.
Mariah Wonders made the all-PCAC second team by nearly averaging a double-double. She led the Knights with 9.7 rebounds per game and added 9.8 points in her sophomore season. Wonders also totaled 33 blocks in 27 games.
She scored in double figures 13 times and had a season-high 21 points in a win over L.A. Harbor on January 11. Wonders grabbed at least 14 rebounds seven times this season and had a high of 19 in a win over Imperial Valley on February 1.
