Knights Get Wins over SWC, IVC

In the win over Southwestern, the Knights got 20 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and seven steals from Aamori Daniels as well as 17 points and eight rebounds from Dahlia Blake who came off the bench. Three others also scored in double figures, including Elissa St. Julien (13 points, seven rebounds), Aniya Felder (11 points, five rebounds), and Leslie Mwenyenmali (10 points, seven rebounds).
The Knights were hanging on to a 1-point lead after three quarters, but then outscored Southwestern 27-17 in the final period to get the win.
On Friday, San Diego City scored the first 19 points of the game and held Imperial Valley scoreless until the final minute of the first quarter. The Knights then outscored IVC 13-5 in the second quarter to take a 32-9 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Knights saved their best shooting for the third quarter when they made 53.3% of their field goals, including 6-of-9 from 3-point territory, to help extend their lead to 54-22.
City's lead grew to as many as 35 points early in the fourth quarter as the Knights cruised to their second straight win and third in the last four games.
Elissa St. Julien was the only Knight to score in double figures with 11 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.
Daniels (nine points, eight rebounds) and Blake (eight points, six rebounds) both reached the 800 career points milestone on Friday night and have three more games to add to their totals.
The Knights will play their final two home games against No. 5 MiraCosta on Feb. 13 at 5 p.m. and vs. No. 21 Palomar on Feb. 18.
They will conclude the PCAC season at Cuyamaca on Feb. 20.
