City Earns First Win of New Season
The Knights made their first road trip of the season on Friday and split a pair of matches, losing to host Santa Monica (3-0), and winning their first match, 3-1, over East L.A.

The Knights made their first road trip of the season on Friday and split a pair of matches, losing to host Santa Monica (3-0), and winning their first match, 3-1, over East L.A.
After struggling in the loss to Santa Monica, the Knights responded well by getting past East L.A. in four sets with freshman Diana Ramirez leading the way offensively with 10 kills while hitting .364 for the match.
Sophomore Cassie Stevens had a stellar performance defensively as she recorded a career-high 38 digs to go along with four aces.
Sophomore Samantha Hernandez had six kills with 15 digs, and sophomore Aliyah Lucas also had six kills to go with 13 digs.
Freshman Danna Gallardo added seven kills and two aces.
The Knights improved to 1-2 on the season with that victory and will have two weeks off before hosting Mt. San Jacino on Sept. 12 at 5 p.m.
