San Diego City's women's cross country team took third place at the PCAC championship on Friday with Deandra Jara, Jackeline Reyes, and Leslie Barajas all finishing in the top-14 to earn all-PCAC honors. With their third place run, the Knights also qualified for the Southern California Regional championship for the fifth year in a row, a program record.
As she has done at the previous two meets, Deandra Jara was the Knights' fastest runner once again at the Manny Bautista Cross Country Invite, hosted by San Diego Mesa College and held at Liberty Station's NTC Park on Friday morning. Running among the largest field of the season, Jara finished the 5k course in 35th overall with a time of 21:09.9, which nearly equaled her personal record.
In their second race of the season, the Knights had four runners finish in the top 25, including Deandra Jara who came in fourth overall, to help them earn second place at the Coach Downey Classic.
