Stewart, Nunez Named to All-PCAC First Team; Johnson, Jones, Laine, Perebzak With Honorable Mention

Six Knights have been selected to the All-PCAC team, including sophomore catcher Conner Stewart and sophomore shortstop Julian Nunez who made the first team for the second consecutive year. Sophomores Quinn Johnson and Gabe Jones earned honorable mention, as did freshmen pitchers Avery Laine and Bobby Perebzak.

Nunez and Stewart Commit to Pepperdine and CSUN, Respectively

The 2023 season isn't over yet, but two standout sophomores have already commited to 4-year universities. Conner Stewart will be playing at Cal State Northridge next year and Julian Nunez is set to join Pepperdine on a full scholarship.

Jones, Johnson Hit Home runs; Perebzak Throws Complete Game in Win Over SWC

Gabe Jones and Quinn Johnson each blasted home runs in the sixth inning to break a scoreless tie and help give the Knights a 3-1 home win over Southwestern to end a seven-game skid. Starting pitcher Bobby Perebzak threw his second complete game of the season with five strikeouts.

Knights Split Doubleheader With Mesa

The Knights played a doubleheader against Mesa on Saturday, and after dropping the first game, 7-3, they responded with a 12-3 victory in the second game with Quinn Johnson going 3-for-5 with four RBI and three runs as the Knights improved to 15-9 overall and 5-5 in the PCAC.

Knights Explode for 23 Runs Off 22 Hits in Blowout Win

San Diego City's bats came alive on Saturday with 22 hits in a 21-3 blowout home win over Imperial Valley as the Knights improved to 14-8 overall and 4-4 in the PCAC. Conner Stewart went 4-for-6 with two RBI and Justin Kerby hit his fourth home run of the season.

Laine Strikes Out 12; Johnson With 4 RBI in 8-6 Win at Grossmont

Avery Laine pitched a complete game while striking out a career-high 12 batters in Tuesday's 8-6 road win at Grossmont as the Knights earned their first PCAC win of 2023. Quinn Johnson hit his fifth homer and drove in four RBI to help the Knights comeback from a three-run deficit to improve to 11-6 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

Laine, Perebzak Shutout L.A. Mission 4-0

The Knights won their sixth straight on Tuesday, 4-0 over L.A. Mission, with Avery Laine pitching seven scoreless innings as the Knights improved to 10-4. It's the Knights' best start after 14 games since 2010 when they went 11-3 and eventually won the PCC championship.

Sophomore pitcher Jacob Hennessey went the distance in Tuesday's 7-0 home win over West L.A. to become the first Knight in nearly six years to throw a complete game shutout. Hennessey struck out five and allowed only two hits as the Knights improved to 3-2.
