CHARLENS NAMED COACH OF THE YEAR; NELSON TABBED PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The Knights wrapped up the regular season with two road wins at Imperial Valley (86-54) and Southwestern (97-66) to finish the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference South with an undefeated 8-0 record. It is the second time in the last three seasons that the Knights have completed conference play without a loss and the conference has rewarded the team for its dominance with Coach of the Year honors for Mitch Charlens, Player of the Year honors for Taylor Nelson, and multiple All-PCAC selecions.

KNIGHTS CLINCH PCAC SOUTH TITLE WITH COMEBACK WIN OVER MESA

The Knights erased a 16-point deficit in a 94-82 comeback victory over Mesa that clinched at least a share of the PCAC South championship. It is the fifth conference title since 2004-05 when Head Coach Mitch Charlens took the helm.

Sophomore guard Spencer Mattox came up big for the Knights in the final seconds on both ends of the floor as he hit the game-winning jumper, drew an offensive foul on defense, and then made an insurance free throw to give the Knights a 68-65 home win over MiraCosta on Wednesday night.

The Knights defeated Citrus, 83-75, on Sunday afternoon to win the consolation championship at the 2015 Neil Edwards, held at Citrus College. Leonard Allen was selected to the all-tournament team after scoring 21 points, grabbing eight rebounds, and blocking three shots against Citrus.
