City Opens PCAC Play With 20th Straight Win Over Grossmont

Sophomore Junior Camacho scored a game-high 23 points off the bench while also grabbing five rebounds and dishing out five assists.
The Knights (8-4, 1-0 PCAC) were scorching hot from the field in the opening minutes as they made eight of their first 12 shots on the way to a 64.7% clip in the first half.
Grossmont also shot well in the first seven minutes and were down by only three points, but the Knights started to separate themselves with a 24-9 run to gain an 18-point lead with 5:27 left in the first half.
Grossmont did cut into that and got within nine early in the second half, but City answered with another 24-9 run to pull away midway through the second half.
The Knights ended up with their best shooting performance of the season as they shot 56.9% for the game.
They won the rebound battle by 23 and finished with a season-high 49 boards. San Diego City also matched a season-best in assists with 12.
Four other Knights joined Griffin and Camacho in double figures, including Cyprian Hyde who tallied 14 points and seven rebounds.
Santana Huff and Larry Lewis III each scored 13 points, and Pharaoh Amadi added 12 points with eight rebounds.
The Knights play at Mesa on Friday at 5 p.m.
