The 2025-26 PCAC champion Knights moved one step closer to completing an undefeated conference season after dispatching Southwestern, 83-66, on sophomore night to improve to 15-0 with one game left. Dylan Griffin led the way with 22 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and four blocks to help his team win its 13th straight.
The Knights, who are now 22-5 overall, held a Southwestern (14-13, 10-5 PCAC) team that averages 80.8 points per game to just 66 on 34.9% shooting.
City's defense also contained the state's leading scorer Derek Edmond (23.2 ppg) to just nine points on 3-of-14 shooting. In the two games against Southwestern this season, the Knights held Edmond to a total of 17 points.
Griffin, who is the 5th leading scorer in the state (20.4 ppg) scored 13 of his game-high 22 points in the first half to help the Knights take a 45-36 lead into halftime.
The Knights then opened up the first five minutes of the second half with a 12-4 spurt to push their lead up to 17.
Although they shot 59.1% in the second half, the Knights did go cold for a while as they went without a made field goal for a 5-minute stretch midway through the half, but Southwestern did not take advantage and only shaved one point off their lead during that spell.
Santana Huff provided a big boost off the bench as he scored 11 of City's 15 points during the next five minutes to help keep Southwestern from gaining any ground.
Pharaoh Amadi then knocked down a 3-point dagger at the 3:38 mark to give the Knights a 19-point lead, their largest of the game.
The Knights' bench outscored Southwestern's 32-17 with Huff totaling 12 points. Luke Hecht and Larry Lewis III each added nine points.
Junior Camacho chipped in 12 points, three assists and two steals.
The Knights have won 25 straight conference games dating back to last year. Their last PCAC loss was on January 15, 2025.
They have only lost two conference games during this three-peat championship run and will try to finish undefeated for the sixth time since 2014 when they head to Palomar (18-9, 10-5 PCAC) on Friday for the PCAC finale.
