KNIGHTS ARE PLAYOFF-BOUND FOR 6TH STRAIGHT YEAR

The CCCAA released the brackets for its postseason tournament and the Knights are in for the sixth consecutive year. They are the No. 18-seed in the Southern California bracket and will have to travel to No. 15 Santa Monica for a first round playoff on Wednesday, February 27 at 7 p.m.

The PCAC announced it's all-conference teams on Monday and two Knights, including Joseph Riley and Robby Robinson, were selected to the first team, while NaShom Carter was named to the second team and Kai Huntsberry was given honorable mention.

San Diego City Head Coach Mitch Charlens earned his 300th victory on Friday night as the Knights wrapped up conference play by blowing out Imperial Valley, 112-84.

The Knights (15-11, 6-2 PCAC South) came into Friday night's home game against Southwestern (22-4, 8-0 PCAC South) looking to tie the Jaguars for first place in the PCAC South, but the Knights couldn't hold on to a 12-point second half lead and fell, 71-66.

Freshman Robby Robinson recorded his 10th double-double of the season with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks in the Knights' 73-54 home victory over Cuyamaca. Nashom Carter added nine points and five assists.

San Diego City extended its conference win streak to 29 with a 68-56 road victory at Grossmont to open the PCAC South season. Robby Robinson scored 14 of his team-high 18 points in the second half to go with seven rebounds and four assists.

The San Diego City College men's basketball program has had a lot of success in recent years under Head Coach Mitch Charlens with a state championship in 2017, a state final appearance in 2018, and three straight PCAC South titles (2016-18), but one of his greatest accomplishments has been to help many of his student-athletes transfer to 4-year schools.

San Diego City's 20-game home win streak was snapped on Wednesday night with a tough 91-87 loss to No. 4 Mt. San Jacinto in which the Knights could not hold on to a 9-point lead with 2:46 left. Freshman Robby Robinson led the Knights with 21 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks, and four steals.

The Knights won two of three games at MiraCosta's tournament, including an 83-68 victory over Miramar on Friday, to earn third place. Freshman Robby Robinson led the Knights with 18 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists in the win over Miramar.

The Knights made it to the Grossmont Invitational championship game with wins over Desert and Moorpark, but had to settle for second place for the second consecutive week after falling to No. 8 Cerritos, 80-75, on Sunday night.

The Knights were looking to win the Palomar Thanksgiving Tournament championship for the third consecutive year on Sunday night, but they were edged by PCAC-rival Southwestern, 84-78, in overtime, and had to settle for second place.

The San Diego City College men's basketball team snapped a 4-game losing streak on Friday with a 68-64 victory over Santiago Canyon in the opening round of the Palomar tournament. Sophomore Joseph Riley led the team with 19 points, while freshman Kai Huntsberry added seven points, seven rebounds, and six assists off the bench.

The San Diego City College men's basketball team claimed its second straight Knights Invitational championship after defeating Citrus, 85-74, in the title game on Saturday night. Freshman Robby Robinson poured in a game-high 25 points to go with 11 rebounds and two blocks.

The San Diego City College men's basketball team got a 15-point and 10-rebound effort from freshman Robby Robinson on Friday as he helped lead the Knights to a 101-83 season opening victory over Barstow.

NO. 13 KNIGHTS SET TO PLAY BARSTOW IN SEASON OPENER

The San Diego City College men's basketball team will tip off the 2018-19 season at home (Harry West Gymnasium) against Barstow College on Friday, November 2 at 3 p.m. The Knights will start the new season as the No. 13 team in the state, according to the CCCMBCA preseason poll.
