The Knights held a 39-38 halftime lead over San Francisco in the state championship game on Sunday, but the Rams controlled the second half and went on to snap the Knights' 26-game win streak with an 82-72 victory to claim the 2018 state title.

The Knights have reached the state championship game for the second consecutive year by defeating Fresno City, 90-82, in Saturday night's semifinal with five players scoring in double figures, including freshman Ethan Esposito who led the team with 18 points. Sophomore Wonder Smith had 15 points, five rebounds, and four assists in the victory.

The defending state champions are back in the state championship semifinals after getting past Santa Rosa, 72-64, on Friday afternoon. Freshman Ethan Esposito led the Knights with 17 points and six rebounds, while Robert McCoy added 14 points and five rebounds.

Sophomore Robert McCoy exploded for 20 points in the second half to help lead the Knights to a 91-84 home victory over Ventura that puts them in the CCCAA state championship quarterfinals for the second straight year. McCoy tied his career-high with 32 points, brought down 10 rebounds, and blocked three shots in City's 24th consecutive win.

The Knights have made it to the title game of all five tournaments they've played in this season and they came away with their third championship on Sunday with a 96-67 victory over Grossmont to claim the Grossmont College Tournament crown for the second straight year.

KNIGHTS TAKE 2ND AT CITRUS TOURNEY

The Knights were back in action this weekend at the Citrus College tournament and made it to their third consecutive championship game, but fell in the closing seconds Citrus, 77-75. Ethan Esposito scored a team-high 15 points to go with seven rebounds. Robert McCoy added 14 points and five boards.
